Delta-8 THC is a synthetic cannabinoid first developed by the pharmaceutical company Abbot Laboratories in the 1960s. Still, it’s only one step away from becoming an active cannabinoid – unlike synthetic cannabinoids, which are chemically inactive compounds that give you similar effects to smoking weed. The drug is also known as 1-1 THC or 1,1-Dibutyl-Delta8-Tetrahydrocannabinol and can be made by mixing butane with a solution of natural delta-9 THC thus separating the atoms into their parts.
