Delta-8 THC is a synthetic cannabinoid first developed by the pharmaceutical company Abbot Laboratories in the 1960s. It was initially created for use as an analgesic and also as an anti-emetic agent. However, it did not benefit for either of these purposes, so its development was discontinued. On the other hand, delta eight wholesale THC has proven to promise to help fight cancer.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that are found in marijuana plants (cannabis spp.) When delta-9 THC attaches itself to specific receptors found on human body cells, it stimulates those cells into action, thus creating medical benefits. Delta-8 THC canbind itself to the same receptors that delta-9 THC attaches to, thus creating similar medical advantages. For instance, it has been found that Delta-8 THC is an excellent anti-emetic, which can reduce nausea and vomiting. Delta-8 THC is a chemically altered form of the active ingredient in marijuana, Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. In its normal state, it’s a class B drug and has been illegal in the UK under The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 since 2003. In the same year, Jordan Williams, 20 from Pembrokeshire, was jailed for possession of delta-8 after being caught with 13g during a police raid on his home. Williams, supplying local cannabis users, faced a custodial sentence but received a lesser term because the judge believed he had “an ounce of sense”.

Wholesale Delta-8 THC appears not to be well known outside drug circles. Still, it’s only one step away from becoming an active cannabinoid – unlike synthetic cannabinoids, which are chemically inactive compounds that give you similar effects to smoking weed. The latter has famously seen people across the North West hospitalised after taking them. The drug is also known as 1-1 THC or 1,1-Dibutyl-Delta8-Tetrahydrocannabinol and can be made by mixing butane with a solution of natural delta-9 THC thus separating the atoms into their parts.
