Disclosure: I was given media passes to attend the performance. All opinions are my own.
DISNEY’s biggest animated film of all time couldn’t have picked a better night to skate into Bridgeport – the city was in every sense of the word Frozen. Fans from all ages endured the bitter cold temperatures just to enjoy the heart warming story of the two sisters from Arendelle.
I’m sure I’m not the only 30+ year old that cried the first time I watched Frozen. There was just no way I was… I mean, no way that We were going to miss Disney On Ice presents Frozen when the worldwide tour stopped by the Webster Bank Arena.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck opened the show. Disney princesses, including Rapunzel, Little Mermaid, Cinderella and Snow White each had their princes accompany them on the ice. Toy Story, The Lion King and Finding Nemo had their friends dancing and skating on the ice with their princess friends. Then the Frozen show starts and the Disney on Ice production pretty much goes scene for scene with the movie. It also covers most of the songs from the hit movie, which had everybody singing along.
Biggest cheer of the night went to Olaf when he came on stage, but my favourite character was the Snow Monster, Marshmallow. He was inflatable, and breathed out frosty air. There was fantastic use of remote controlled props, so he was able to move around the rink and interact with the other characters just like any of the cast.
Special effect of the night was the snow. So beautiful and so much of it! Actually having snow falling from the whole sky was amazing, and enchanted the entire crowd.
Disney On Ice presents Frozen brings the well-loved story to life in front of your eyes. I absolutely can’t say strongly enough how much you should go and see this show, especially if you have a little Frozen fan.
